OLD JUNIOR SCHOOL, SHARROW
The old school hall was cosy (and surprisingly toasty) for our first anniversary members’ party, with mulled wine, homemade cake and biscuits, and a sprinkling of fairly lights.
First was our quick quiz – which we thought wasn’t hard at all, but turned out to be dastardly for most; apart from our winners, members number 13 and 30, John Marshall and Sarah Cole, who went home with two tickets for the Showroom in their back pockets (well done you two! Thanks Showroom!).
Our feature was the classic noir, The Third Man. Written by Graham Greene and starring Orson Welles and Joseph Cotton, this tale of mystery in the dark underworld of post-war Vienna is rightly in just about every Top 100 list you’ll see. And its lush black and white looked so good on our big screen. We really did forget where we were…
